Chapter 4. DEFINING LOCATIONS AND COLLECTIONS
Managing Libraries
To access the Locations Collections “libraries” page:

From
the Circ Admin menu, select Locations Collections.
- The Locations Collections - Libraries screen displays.
- The Locations Collections - Libraries screen lists the currently
established libraries for your system, and provides the following information
for each library:
- Seq - the display sequence for the library in Location menus throughout the system
- Library - the name of the library
- Float Default – indicates the default library to which “floating” items are
routed in the event the checkin library has exceeded its floating collection
limit. Select the radio button for the desired library.
NOTE: The Float Default field is shown only if your library or consortium has enabled the optional “smart” floating collections functionality.
- Active - indicates whether or not the associated library is currently active (shown in Location menus throughout the system; either Yes (the associated library is active) or No (the associated library is not active)
- Hide - indicates whether or not the associated library is hidden when viewing Location information in the Search module; either Yes (the library is not shown when viewing Location information) or No (the library is shown when viewing Location information)
- Suppress - indicates whether or not display of items associated with the library are returned in search results lists in the Search module; either Yes (items associated with the library are not returned in search results) or No (items associated with the library are returned in search results)
- Branches - shows the total number of branches associated with each library
- If desired, you can reconfigure, sort and filter table content (see the System Basics User Guide for details).
- From the Locations Collections - Libraries screen, you may:
- Set the display sequence for libraries (see Setting the Library Display Sequence for details)
- View library statistics (see Viewing Library Statistics for details)
- Add a library (see Adding a Library for details)
- Modify a library definition (see Modifying Libraries for details)
- Add or edit branches for a selected library (see Managing Branches for details)
- Merge two locations into a single location (see Merging Locations for details)
- Print a copy of the Locations Collection - Libraries list (see Printing Circulation Parameters for details)
- Save a copy of the Locations Collection - Libraries list to your local workstation (see Saving Circulation Parameters for details)
- Email a copy of the Locations Collection - Libraries list to yourself or to another party (see Emailing Circulation Parameters for details)
