Chapter 6. REPORT WRITER
Using the Report Writer
The Report Writer facilitates the creation of customized User, Bibliographic, Item and Acquisitions reports. Using the Report Writer, you can select the report category/type, add multiple parameters, select the desired output fields, and schedule the report run time and frequency.
To access the Report Writer:
- From the Circ Reports menu, select Report Writer.
- The Report Writer – Custom Reports screen displays.
- The screen lists all currently defined custom reports, and shows the Report Name, the staff member the report was Created By, the date on which the report was created (Created Date), the Frequency with which the report is scheduled to run, and the date of the Next Run for the report.
- By default, the list is sorted in reverse chronological order (most recent
date first). If desired, you can re-sort the list according to a selected
column heading.
- Position the cursor on the desired column heading, then click the Sort Options button to display the Sort Options menu.
- Select Sort Ascending to sort the list in alphanumeric order. The Sort Order icon (alphanumeric) displays in the column head for the currently selected sort key.
- Select Sort Descending to sort the list in reverse alphanumeric order. The Sort Order icon (reverse alphanumeric) displays in the column head for the currently selected sort key.
- Select Remove Sort to return the list to the default sort order.
- From the Report Writer – Custom Reports screen, you may:
- Create a new report (see Creating a Custom Report for details)
- Edit the parameters for an existing report (see Editing a Custom Report for details)
- Schedule and/or run an existing report (see Scheduling and Running a Custom Report for details)
- Delete an existing report (see Deleting a Custom Report for details)
