Chapter 4. MANAGING RESOURCES
Managing Resource Notes and Database Descriptions
The Manage Resource Notes and description options let you attach a Resource Note and/or a Database Description to a search resource. Resource Notes can include additional information about the associated search source (entered as either raw text or HTML code) as well as a link to an external location (such as a library's home page). Library patrons may view Resource Notes for any search source by clicking the name of the search source in the Resources section of any Search screen. Resource Notes are displayed in an additional browser window. Database Descriptions provide brief resource descriptions that can be displayed to users as either mouse-over descriptions or as text next to the name of the resource.
Using Manage Resource Notes and description, you can:
- Add a new Resource Note
- Add a new Database Description to a resource
- Edit an existing Resource Note
- Edit an existing Database Description
- Delete a Resource Note
