Chapter 3. SEARCH AND RESULTS OPTIONS
Overview - Search and Results Options
Search and Results options let you configure a number of options associated with performing searches and viewing search results. Using Search and Results options, you can:
- Enable or disable optional features and functions and configure the default settings for the Quick Search and Advanced Search functions.
- Set the default values for the search results screen, including default grouping (merged, clustered or none), display view (gallery or list) and sort order, and enable or disable optional features and functions on Search Results screens, according to user type (patrons/guests or library staff).
- Specify the message shown when a search returns no results.
- Establish the content of Brief Record Displays.
- Configure the available facets (filters) used to narrow search results.
- Enable or disable optional features and functions on Full Record Displays based on user type (patrons/guests or library staff).
- Enable and disable display of web links based on user type, and configure the manner in which web links are displayed in the Search interface.
