Chapter 2. REPORTS
Overview
The Reports function lets you generate, view, and save analytical reports intended to provide insight into various library operational parameters. The specific reports available to you are determined by the User Types to which you are assigned (see the User Administration User Guide for details). You must be assigned to one or more of the following User Types to access the Reports function:
- Customer SuperUser
- Library SuperUser
- Reports Staff
- User Administrator
- Statistics
- Circulation Admin
The following reports are available through the Reports function:
- Favorites – contains a list of reports you have designated as “favorite” reports (see Managing Favorite Reports for details)
- Circulation – lets you view analytical reports related to your library’s circulation activities during a specified time period. The following reports are available:
- By Collection Type – provides the total count of items that were circulated at the library based on collection type.
- By Day And Hour – provides the total daily check-out count, weekly average number of items checked-out, and average count of unique patrons to which items were checked out.
- By Material Type – provides the total count of items that were circulated at the library based on material type.
- By User Type – provides the total count of items that were circulated at the library based on User Type.
- By Patron Group – provides the total number of unique users and the number of items that were circulated based on the Patron Group.
- Holds Statistics – provides the total number of holds placed and filled by patron category.
- Top Circulated Titles – provides a list of up to the top 30 circulated book titles for the current year-to-date.
- Transaction by Owning Library – provides the total number of the selected library's items that are checked out displayed by the transaction locations.
- Transactions by Home Library – provides the total number of items checked out to the selected library's patrons displayed by the transaction locations.
- Users – lets you view analytical reports related to user (patron)
activity for your library. The following reports are available:
- Active Users – provides the total number of active patrons (patrons that performed at least one circulation transaction that updated the last active field in the user account such as checkout, check-in, renew, pay fines, etc.) over the prior four years and current year-to-date.
- New Registered Users (new patrons) – provides the total number of new patrons registered over the prior four years and current year-to-date with a percentage difference from year to year.
- User Status Report (expiration status) – provides the total number of valid (unexpired) and expired users according to user type.
- Collections – lets you view analytical reports related to your
library’s collections activities. The following reports are available:
- Bibliographic Statistics – provides the total number of bibliographic records in your library’s catalog displayed by publication year and material type, along with the number of records added and updated within the selected date range.
- Collection Development – provides the total number of items added and edited by material type.
- Database Statistics by Collection Type – provides a snapshot of the library's catalog based on the item's collection type.
- Database Statistics by Item Exceptions (Status) – provides the total number of items in the library’s collection according to status level.
- Database Statistics by Material Type – provides a snapshot of the library's catalog based on the item's material type.
- Weeding by Collection Type – provides the total number of items
(by collection type) and percentage of items that have not circulated for
a selected period of time.
Weeding Report – provides the total number and percentage of the library’s items that have not circulated for a selected period of time.
- Zero Circulation Purchasing by Collection Type – provides the total number, percentage, and dollar value of items purchased that have not circulated by collection type.
- Zero Circulation Purchasing by Material Type – provides the total number, percentage, and dollar value of items purchased that have not circulated by material type.
- Fines – lets you view analytical reports related to your
library’s fines/fees activities. The following reports are available:
- Fines Summary – provides the total value of fines/fees assessed and paid based on user types and fine transaction type.
- ILL Statistics – lets you view analytical reports related to your
library’s interlibrary loan activities. The following reports are available:
NOTE: ILL Statistics reports are applicable only for systems using VERSO’s optional Circ-ILL functionality.
- Borrowing Statistics – provides statistics on the borrowing request activities for the selected library.
- Fill Rate Statistics – provides the fill rate percentage for processed requests created within the selected date range.
- Lending Statistics – provides statistics on the lending request activities for the selected library.
- Net Activity – provides a statistical breakdown of lending and borrowing requests that have been processed during the selected period.
- Top Requested Titles – lists the top requested titles from within the selected date range.
