The Circ Admin Menu

The Circ Admin menu provides access to features and functions related to administration of circulation policies and practices.

Depending on the configuration of the system for your library, some features and functions may not be available.

To access the Circ Admin menu:

  1. Click the Staff Dashboard link on any screen in the Search interface.

  2. The Circ Admin menu provides access to the following options:
    • Material Types – Displays the Material Types screen, from which you can create and maintain material types for your VERSO system.
    • Fee Setup – Displays the Fee Setup screen, from which you can establish and maintain a list of fees for library services.
    • Locations Collections – Displays the Locations Collections screen, from which you can create and manage libraries, branches and collection for your VERSO system.
    • Manage Location Groups – Displays the Location Groups screen, from which you can assign library locations to one or more defined location groups.
    • Patrons - Displays the Patrons submenu, from which you may access the following options:
      • Patron Categories – Displays the Patron Categories screen, from which you can create and manage patron categories for your VERSO system.
      • Patron Groups – Displays the Patron Groups screen, from which you can create and manage patron groups for your VERSO system.
      • Set Age Transitions – Displays the Set Age Transitions screen, from which you can specify the parameters by which the system will automatically change a patron’s Patron Category and/or Patron Group assignment based on the patron’s age.
    • Notices – Displays the Notices submenu, from which you may access the following options:
      • Overdue Notice Setup – Displays the Overdue Notice Setup screen, from which you can create and manage overdue notices for your VERSO system.
      • ILL Overdue Notice Setup – Displays the ILL Overdue Notice Setup screen, from which you can create and manage overdue notices for the Circ-ILL module in your VERSO system.

        The ILL Overdue Setup function is available only for libraries that have enabled the optional Circ-ILL functionality (see the Circ-ILL User Guide for more information).

      • Fine Notice Setup – Displays the Fine Notice Setup screen, from which you can create and edit the fine notice for your VERSO system.
      • Reserve Pickup Notice Setup – Displays the Edit Reserve Pickup Notification screen, from which you can create and edit the reserve pickup notice for your VERSO system.
      • Weekly Patron Status Notice – Displays the Weekly Patron Status Notice Footer screen, from which you can create and edit the footer included on patron status notices.
      • Soft Reserve Cancelled Notice Setup – Displays the Edit Soft Reserve Cancelled Notification screen, from which you can create and edit the soft reserve cancellation notice for your VERSO system.
      • Hard Reserve Cancelled Notice Setup – Displays the Edit Hard Reserve Cancelled Notification screen, from which you can create and edit the hard reserve cancellation notice for your VERSO system.
      • Library Card Expiry Notice Setup – Display the Library Card Expiry Notice screen, from which you can create and edit the Library Card Expiry Notice for your VERSO system.
      • Infrequent User Notice Setup – Displays the Infrequent Library User Notice screen, from which you can create and edit the Infrequent Library User Notice for your VERSO system.
      • Checkin In Transit Receipt – Displays the Checkin In Transit Receipt screen, from which you can create and edit the Checkin In Transit Receipt for your VERSO system.
      • Reserve In Transit Receipt – Displays the Reserve In Transit Receipt screen, from which you can create and edit the Reserve In Transit Receipt for your VERSO system.
    • Text Message Setup – Displays the Text Message Setup submenu, from which you may access the following options:
      • Single – Displays the Text Messaging Notification Setup Single Item Message screen, from which you can create and edit the text message used by the Short Message Service (SMS) function when a single notice is included in a text message to a patron.
      • Multiple – Displays the Text Messaging Notification Setup Multiple Titles Message screen, from which you can create and edit the text message used by the Short Message Service (SMS) function when two or more notices are included in a text message to a given patron.
    • Floating Collection Limits – Sets the maximum number of “floating” items a library may have in its collections at any given time.
    • Circulation Parameters – Displays the Circulation Parameters submenu, from which you may access the following options:
      • Loan Periods – Displays the Modify Loan Periods screen, from which you can establish and manage loan periods for the libraries, branches and collections in your VERSO system.
      • Renewal Periods – Displays the Modify Renewal Periods screen, from which you can establish and manage renewal periods for the libraries, branches and collections in your VERSO system.
      • Renewal Limits – Displays the Modify Renewal Limits screen, from which you can establish and manage renewal limits for the libraries, branches and collections in your VERSO system.
      • Checkout Limits – Displays the Modify Checkout Limits screen, from which you can establish and manage checkout limits for the libraries, branches and collections in your VERSO system.
      • Fine Amounts – Displays the Modify Fine Amounts screen, from which you can establish and manage fine amounts for the libraries, branches and collections in your VERSO system.
      • Fine Limits – Displays the Modify Fine Limits screen, from which you can establish and manage fine limits for the libraries, branches and collections in your VERSO system.
      • Checkout Fees – Displays the Modify Checkout Fees screen, from which you can establish and manage checkout fees for the libraries, branches and collections in your VERSO system.
      • Calendar Setup – Displays the Library Calendar Setup screen, from which you can establish and maintain a list of “closed” days for the libraries in your VERSO system.
      • Library Hours – Displays the Library Hours Setup screen, from which you can establish and maintain a schedule of operating hours for the libraries in your VERSO system.
      • Item Status Management – Displays the User Defined Exceptions screen, from which you can create and edit user defined exceptions (status values) for your VERSO system.
      • Customer Status Management – Displays the Customer Status Management screen, from which you can set the Public Display Name and OPAC Color Display for standard exceptions for your library or consortium.
      • Hard Block Limits – Displays the Circulation Hardblock Limits screen, from which you can define the fine, overdue item and reserve limits that will trigger a “hard block” against borrowing privileges in the VERSO Circulation module (see the Circulation User Guide for more information).
      • Fines Suspension – Displays the Suspension Interval Management screen, from which you can specify one or more time periods during which assessment of fines is suspended.
    • System Block Messages – Displays the System Block Messages screen, from which you can create and manage up to 10 “block” messages for your library, which can be selectively applied when a “soft” or “hard” block is registered against a patron’s account using the Add Patron Block function in Circulation
    • Circulation Options – Displays the Set Circulation Options screen, from which you may configure various “user selectable” operating parameters for your VERSO system.
    • Batch Update Due Dates – Displays the Batch Update Due Dates screen, which allows Library SuperUsers and Customer SuperUsers to update the due dates for all currently checked out items for all patrons to a new specified due date.
    • ILL Circulation Options – Displays the ILL Circulation Options screen, from which you may configure various “user selectable” operating parameters for the Circ-ILL module in your VERSO system.

      The ILL Circulation Options function is available only for libraries that have enabled the optional Circ-ILL functionality (see the Circ-ILL User Guide for more information).

    • Define Pickup Locations – Displays the Define Library reserve Pickup Locations screen, from which you can create and manage pickup locations for libraries in your VERSO system.
    • Unique Mgmt Setup – Displays the Unique Management Configuration Menu screen, from which you can maintain your library's Unique Management account information, and specify the criteria by which patrons are included in reports transmitted to Unique Management, Inc. for collection.

      Support for Unique Management, Inc. is optional and may not be enabled for all systems. Contact Auto-Graphics Technical Services for additional information.

    • Item Categories – Displays the Item Category Management screen, from which you can create and manage Item Categories intended for use in associating related items, such as a “Recommended Reading” list or list of “Special Research Resources.”
    • Primary Patron Hold Mgmt – Displays the Manage Primary Patron Message screen, from which you can configure and manage Primary Patron Hold functionality.
    • Expired Patron Maintenance – Displays the Modify/Delete Patron Expiration Date screen, from which you can perform “bulk” processing of user records of patrons for whom borrowing privileges have expired.
    • SMS Management – Displays the SMS Carriers screen, from which you can maintain a list of SMS carriers used by the Short Message Service (SMS) text messaging function.

      Text messaging support is a purchasable enhancement, and may not be available for all systems. Contact Auto-Graphics’ Sales and Marketing for more information.

    • TalkingTech Admin – Displays the TalkingTech Admin submenu, from which you may access the following options:
      • Configuration – Displays the Talking Tech Configuration screen, from which you can specify the types of messages to be sent through TALKINGtech (for library patrons who have specified i-Tiva as their notification preference), and the time of day at which messages are processed.
      • Results Report – Displays the Talking Tech Message Activity Report screen, from which you can view text messaging results for a selected one-month period.
    • SmartPay Device Admin – For libraries using the SmartPay Revenue Management Solution offered by Comprise Technologies, the SmartPay Device Admin option lets you enter configuration information required by the system for your SmartPay Device.

      Text messaging support is optional, and may not be available for all systems. Contact Auto-Graphics’ Sales and Marketing for more information.

    • Receipts and Notice Configuration – Displays the Receipts and Notice Configuration screen, from which you can specify the font and font size for receipts and notices, and create and maintain the header and footer included on all “transaction” receipts generated in the Circulation module.
    • Print Barcode Shortcut Report – Displays the Print Barcode Shortcuts screen, from which you can print a list of barcode “shortcuts” for frequently accessed circulation activities.
    • Reserves Fulfillment – Displays the Reserve Fulfillment Parameters screen from which you can create a “rotating” list of lending libraries that will fulfill inter-branch reserves for your library as a borrower.
    • Patron Notification/Agreement Text – Displays the Edit Patron Notification/Agreement Text screen from which you can create and manage notification and agreement text shown to patrons in the Search module when patrons attempt to place reserves for items in a non-reserve location, of a non-reserve material type. or with an exception of Lost or Missing, and when patrons select to include Previously Checked Out Items in their Circulation Status.
    • Reserve Notes Notification Parameter – Displays the Edit Reserve Notes Notification Parameters screen, from which you can configure the system to send an email to a specified email address any time a Reserve Note is added or updated.
    • Manage Sounds – Displays the Manage Sounds screen, from which you may customize the audible alarms that sound for various circulation activities and events.
    • Brief Record Options – Displays the Brief Record Required Fields screen, from which you can specify the required fields for the Add Brief Record screen.
  3. Click the Home image of Home Icon button to return to the Search interface.
